Sunday – Marshall Moor Recce Run

Time: 1.15pm
Route: Marshall Moor Recce Run
Distance: 5.96miles
Time Run: 1hr 21mins 19secs

Today Donald had organised a recce run for the Marshall Moor Race which is being run next Sunday. The Marshall Moor race starts at Kilbarchan Park and goes up to the Trig point on Marshall Moor and then back again. There is no set course and the idea is to run off road as much as possible and use a different route up and down. So today I videod the run with Donald as our guide which hopefully will help us next week. I ran this race last year and got lost on the way down and ran extra distance so I was keen to make sure I watched carefully!

Also last year the race was the day after our whw training run. So at least this year the recce run was the day after. My legs felt fine setting off but I felt a bit heavy and spent most of the run at the back of the group of 7 but as we were stopping regularly to explain the way it was fine and I was surprised how little soreness there was after yesterday’s run.

It was good to get out and run the route and I’m looking forward to next Sunday. But before that we have 2 more club races to do. The first is tomorrow night – a 4 and a bit mile handicap race around Johnstone and then the Christmas relay race around Kilbarchan on Boxing Day. So this week will be an easier week mileage wise but 3 races which should be fun.
Photo after the run …..

The video is uploading as I type so I’ll post that later if you want to see where we ran.
