Christmas Presents

I hope you all had a really good Christmas Day. We did – we had a really relaxed day.

Here is a picture of our family just about to eat our Christmas lunch. Left to right: Laura, Josh, Katrina, Jo, Emma and Hollie.

This Christmas has been very different for me. For the last 10 years I’ve been really busy as a Pastor with extra services and all that it involves. This year I’ve enjoyed being able to relax a bit more and go along to church without having to organise the service! We went along to Hopehall for their Kids Church service on Sunday 21 December, to Mossvale (where Josh and Laura go) for the Watchnight service on Christmas Eve and then to Cathcart on Christmas Day.

I really enjoyed being able to celebrate the birth of Jesus with different groups of Christians. We have tried to have a more low key Christmas this year and we all agreed we had a good time yesterday.

I had a few running related presents …

Jo, Emma, Laura and Hollie made up a collage of whw photos which is now on my wall in the study. There are some of my favourite photos so that was a really appreciated present!

Katrina bought me a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while. I’d tried to get it from the library but they didn’t have it so Katrina was spot on there. I’m looking forward to reading it and will let you know what I think of it sometime!

This afternoon we have our Kilbarchan Christmas Relay race so I’ll report on that later!

I’ve had that book lying about for a few weeks and haven’t yet started it. Santa brought Dean Karnazes’ 50 50 secrets I learned running 50 marathons in 50 days. And I’ve ordered Ultra running – a step beyond from USA – apparently the bible of ultra runners. So Mr Murakami will have to wait a few weeks longer…Hope you had a nice day,Davie
