Thursday: Recovery Run

Time: 7.00am
Route: Paisley Canal
Distance: 5.23miles
Time Run: 42mins 12secs (average pace 8.05)

I decided to get up early and get my recovery run in before work. My legs felt a bit heavy from last night’s club run but I didn’t look at my watch and just ran what I felt was easy and sure enough 8.05 pace seems about right.

As I was coming off the cycle track I met Bobby Quinn running the other way. He asked me whether I’m changing my training pattern with the new job. I was hoping to be able to run some days to work but I’m not sure if it will work out as there are various meeting around the city I need to go to and will need my motor bike to get there. So it looks like Tuesday/Thursday recovery runs will have to be early morning, or lunch time if I can use Bellahouston Sport Centre for a shower or evenings after work.

Anyway where there is a will there is a way. I know other runners (eg Thomas, Sharon) who regularly get up before 5am to get there long run in.

    I regularly get up before 5am but unfortunately no long runs, just a grumpy teething baby. Boo hoo. 😉
