Details

This week I’m having to switch my runs around as tonight I have a meeting so can’t run with the club and on Wednesday it is Jo & Emma’s 21st birthday so we are going out for a meal, so again the club run is out.

So I’ve decided to work on the following pattern for this week …

Monday lunchtime – easy 6miles
Tuesday evening – steady 11-12miles
Wednesday after work – easy 6miles
Thursday evening – steady 11-12miles
Friday lunctime – easy 5miles on Bellahouston park
Sunday afternoon – off road 18-20miles on the Braes

That should give me 59-62miles for the week which I’ll be pleased with. For our two day run we now have 5 running so that will be great. I hope the weather is as good as it is today!

The results of the women’s 10k are out today. Emma finished in 58mins 45secs. I’ve told her to aim for a sub 55mins next year!! I’m sure she could do it with some training. Emma and her friend Naomi are keen to come along on a Monday night at the club. That would make the difference I’m sure.

  1. Hi John, I trained my wife to run 52 mins in her first 10k.
I used Jeff Galloway’s run – walk method it seemed to work well letting Niz build up her long run without her muscles getting over fatigued!
I’m sure Emma with a bit of coaching from you could knock a big chunk off that 58 min 10k.
