I set up this blog (Oct 06) to record my training and thoughts in preparing for the 2007 WHW Race – a 95 mile ultra race from Milngavie to Fort William.
I have now run 40 ultras over the past ten years including the whw 6 times and you can read all about them, watch my race videos and lots more by using the tabs at the top of the blog.

John got off to a good start in his forth West Highland Way race. He was confident and anxious to get going at the start line. His first leg support team was in charge until Rowardennan then handed over to Stevie and David who will be in charge until the finish.

After 5 hours, John was on schedule for a sub 20 hour race. The weather is fine and dry as he heads towards the top of Loch Lomond, only a slight northerly breeze to contend with. The family are home now after their regular Macdonald’s breakfast, Katrina will be heading up to the finish this afternoon. We all hope the rest of the race goes to plan! Good Luck John!
