Before a big race I like to do a dress rehearsal with the kit I’ll be wearing on the day. So this morning Katrina & I went up the Gleniffer Braes and ran just over 7miles in the morning mist and cloud.
In keeping with my pictures of the gear I’ll be taking inside my rucksack here is what I plan to wear for the race.
We had a good run together chatting about the Lakeland race and also Katrina’s race the next weekend. She’s now up to 14th on the reserve list so it’s looking good for a place.
This weekend has been great for watching sport. We enjoyed our day out to Motherwell to watch Everton play a friendly. A 1-1 draw was about right.
We also saw a number of the Clyde Stride runners go past Strathcylde Park. I didn’t realise it went past the park and we’d gone down there to have our sandwiches before the game so it fitted it well! Congratulations to all who ran yesterday.
Then after the game we headed home in time to watch Bradley Wiggins finish his time trial.
Then to watch the last few hours of the Open Golf. It would be great to see a GB winner so I’ll be cheering on Graeme McDowell.
I won’t mention the cricket though as England are labouring against South Africa.
I’m following the Celtic Plate 100k race from South Wales. I’ve just spoken to Debs and Team Scotland are all going well though Debs said that it’s very hot.
Just a few days left if you want to enter my ‘Guess My Time’ competition. You have until 5.30pm Thursday.
