Sunday morning run on the Braes

I’ve not been up on the Braes for a few weeks and I chose a great day to return. Kilbarchan club mates Steven and David joined me.  We met at my house at 7.30am and headed up for my 11mile route.

16routeIt was a beautiful morning to out early. Steven commented that it had been really foggy on the way over in his car but it was fairly clear as we started.

I wore a base layer and long sleeved top, shorts, gloves and a buff and felt just right. I was also wearing my new Hoka Stenson Evo’s for the first time. Plus I was starting my trial of using the Matrix Nutrition Energy Boost product.

Once we climbed up to the Braes we had an amazing view of the fog/cloud completely covering Paisley and Glasgow. It was really magical with the high flights just poking up about the cloud.

I took some video clips as I wanted to have a go with the iMac iMovie programme so watch out for that coming soon.

We paused at the trig point for my traditional photo …

You can see the cloud covering the valley.

We had a great run chatting the whole way round and really enjoying being out early.   I took a couple more photos on the way down …

I love the view of the cloud and the sun shining on the mountains in the distance.

It was a great run made really special with the views.  Here my stats for the run …

15statsSo the first week of my build up to the Hardmoors 30 has gone well. I’ve run almost 44miles and feeling good.
