Midweek Runs

On Wednesday and Thursday I had two runs around Pollok Park but they were very different.

Wednesday lunchtime – Tempo Run

I ran the same route as last Wednesday and was hoping to run it a little faster. I did the same pattern with a mile warm up, four miles at tempo pace (aiming for sub 7min per mile) and finish with an easy mile.

I noticed last week that my second mile was the slowest so I was keen to try and push the pace a bit.  Here is a comparison of the two weeks.

The tempo part was 14 secs last so pleased with that!

Thursday after work – Off Road Run

I wanted an off road run so decided to run around Pollok Park but kept off the roads as much as possible. It was quite muddy in places and on the final mile I was attacked by hail stones which were quite painful!

I’m looking forward to my long run tomorrow. I’m joining Jamie, Carrie and a few others on a 35 mile run from Aberfoyle to Invergeldie.  Full report to come!
