With the Wooler Marathon coming up soon I wanted to have an easier week after Monday night’s Club Fartlek session.
Monday – Club Fartlek Run
The session this week was a ladder of 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min, 5min, 5min, 4min, 3min, 2min, 1min with half recoveries except after the 5mins it was 2mins.
Right from the first one I was feeling good so tried to keep the pace going right to the end of each effort. Ryan was running well again and when he went past me I would hang on for as long as I could.
There were about 10 of us running including Katrina, Tracey, Lesley and Ali who all made sure they were working hard.
Here are my stats for the session …
I was really pleased that I had run 4.92miles for the 30mins of hard running. I think that it is my best for quite a few months so a good indicator I’m in decent shape for the Trail Marathon on Sunday 20th November.
Wednesday – Run with Katrina and Tracey
Initially I was going to run at lunchtime but I couldn’t fit it in. Then I was going to run as soon as I got home but Katrina’s group run fell through so she had a run planned with Tracey at 6pm so I asked could I tag along!
We ran 7.61 miles which is a bit further than I would have done on my own and the chat and company was so good the time just flew by! Thanks for letting me join you K&T!
Thursday – Run after work
I had thought about doing an off run around Brodie Park but as I wasn’t heading out until 5pm and it was pitch dark I decided on my 5 mile loop past Paisley Canal Train Station. It was dark enough running along the cycle path so it was a good decision.
My plan for the next 10 days is to do the Linwood parkrun on Saturday and then easy runs on Monday and Wednesday before Sunday’s Trail Marathon. I gather the distance is 28.5miles but I’m not counting it as an ultra!!
