Review of my training for Hardmoors 55

At lunch time today I went for an easy run around Pollok Park which felt good. So that’s my training for Saturday’s Hardmoors 55 completed.  I have 2 days off running before toeing the line at 9am on Saturday.

I had 10 days of easy running after New Year’s Day Hardmoors 30 race then I gave myself a 10 week training programme building up to the second race in the Hardmoors Grand Slam challenge.

I have run every session I had planned so I’m pleased with that.  Here is a summary of all my runs over the last 10 weeks ….HM55 Training 1

HM55 Training 2I feel confident that I have done as much as I can to prepare for this race.  I haven’t got any injuries or niggles which always helps.  I’ve had a solid build up with a mixture of harder weeks and some easy weeks.

I’ve also been thinking about my food strategy for Saturday.  I’ve found for races around 50 miles I can manage with a mixture of foods and I don’t get too stressed about having to eat too much.

So my plan for my drop bags and what I’m going to carry is as follows ….HM55 Food

I’m now up to 55 guesses for my ‘Guess My Time’ Competition.  Remember you have until 12noon on Friday if you want to take part.  I’ll post the guesses here before we leave for Helmsley on Friday afternoon.
